Richmond , CA - Jun 29, 2006 - Sage Software announced today the groundbreaking for construction of a new facility in Richmond to house the Canadian operations and global development teams for its market-leading Sage Accpac ERP and Simply Accounting by Sage product lines. The new building, which Sage Software is entering into a long-term lease agreement for, will be located immediately south of the existing Sage Software Richmond operations centre located at 13700 International Place, which currently houses 350 employees. PK Group of Companies, in consortium with Wireless Way Equities Inc., a subsidiary of Greystone Managed Investments Inc. and Tonko Realty Advisors Ltd., is building the new facility specifically for Sage Software, whose Sage Accpac ERP and Simply Accounting by Sage product lines have been key drivers of the technology industry in the Greater Vancouver area for more than 25 years.
"A market-leading business in Canada needs a market-leading facility," said Laurie Schultz, Sage Software general manager for Simply Accounting by Sage. "Today's groundbreaking ceremony has been eagerly anticipated by us, and kicks off the journey to making that desire a reality."
"Our growing operations here have created a crucial need for more space for our existing employees," said Craig Downing, Sage Software general manager for Sage Accpac. "The new facility will accommodate our infrastructure needs so that we can comfortably continue to be a vital business presence in British Columbia, serving our clients throughout North America and delivering our products to small and mid-sized businesses around the world."
Construction of the new facility for the Sage Software Richmond campus is expected to be completed by November 2007.
